Fraser is a lifelong entrepreneur, activist, and technology leader who brings order and calm to fiery situations. He has a wealth of experience founding and operating both bootstrapped and venture-backed businesses – most notably: and Recon Instruments. Fraser is also a longstanding animal activist who has served as Captain for Sea Shepherd on many campaigns worldwide.

Dan Eisenhardt


Co-founder and former CEO of Recon Instruments, Dan is recognized for bringing the first consumer heads-up display technology to market. Today, he splits his time between VFF and his new startup, Form. Dan’s passion for sport, coupled with his outgoing personality, defines his approach to business: persistent and resourceful.

Jay Rhind


As a reformed corporate financial analyst and twice-failed entrepreneur, Jay brings a pragmatic and analytical approach to investment decisions and portfolio impact work at VFF. He is responsible for deal sourcing, due diligence, LP communications, and is part of the investment committee. In his spare time, he pours over business books and loses himself in marine aquaculture publications.

John Najafi


With experience at both startups and large companies, John brings a diverse skill set and unique point of view to VFF. John is responsible for deal sourcing, due diligence, and assisting VFF’s portfolio companies. In his spare time, he enjoys challenging his Grouse Grind record and cheering on the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Candace Hobin

Community Manager

Candace started her career in banking and customer service but has since left that behind to join the exciting world of venture finance. At VFF, she is responsible for managing VFF’s Founder’s Community, planning eccentric events, and various administrative duties. Outside of work, Candace enjoys anything adventure related including travelling, bungee jumping, and skydiving.
